Gboard: Google tests the Smart Compose and looking for Gifs on its keyboard
Regularly, Google is working to develop the features of its virtual keyboard on Android, Gboard. The developer Jane Manchun Wong has identified two new options currently tested by the developer, namely the suggestion of GIF and auto-completion.
Above all, Google continues to actively develop new features.
The first of these is to suggest Gifs directly by typing the name of emotion into the text field. So, typing “happy,” “angry,” then “sad” the Google keyboard offers Gifs suggestions tailored to these feelings.
The second function discovered by the developer concerns auto-completion. Like most virtual keyboards, Gboard already offers a word suggestion function based on your habits, but it could go even further.
For now, these two features are still in the test phase and are therefore not available in the public version of Gboard. We do not know when – and if – Google will extend them to the final version, but we hope not to have to wait a long time.
