Everything You Need to Know About the New iPad Air 2020

Believe it or not, the new iPad Air is about to hit the market and it has some really cool features to offer. With the all-new iPad Air 2020, you are about to get some new pro-level features at a fairly affordable price compared to the predecessor iPad gadgets. The screen on the iPad Air will be relatively bigger and it has some other promising things in store for people. So without further adieu, let’s not waste any more precious time and learn what the new iPad Air 2020 has in store for Apple fans here.

Starting with the iPad Air 2020 Overall Design

The new iPad Air 4 is rumoured to look exactly like the 11 inch iPad Pro. It is also rumoured that the new device will have the mini LED display technology which hasn’t been introduced on any iPad full-screen design as of yet. There’s also a chance that the new iPad Air 4 design will include the long-forgotten Touch ID. It was revealed in the same tweet where they revealed the news about the Face ID.

We expect that the Touch ID will not only be limited to the iPad Air 4 but will also appear in the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13. This is intended because there are several occasions where the Face ID fails to work such as moments when you’re wearing a Face Mask. The Touch ID will be facilitated with a fingerprint scanner. There’s no doubt that the new iPad Air 4 will imitate the same design as the iPad Pro 2020. The only difference between both the gadget designs will be the camera in the side bezels.

At the same time, we are also expecting a compatibility feature for the magic keyboard in iPad Air 4.

A Bit on the Specs of the iPad Air 2020

Starting with the USB port, according to some Chinese suppliers we have come to learn that the new iPad Air 2020 will feature the USB Type C port instead of Lighting ports for charging.

As far as the device storage is concerned, the new iPad Air 2020 will have 64GB worth of storage space. Fans will also get an A13 bionic processor which is the next-gen processor compared to the A12 Bionic processors which were used in the iPhone XS and XR phones. The current iPhone 11 phones are using the A13 chips. Whereas the regular iPad that is commonly being used by people contains the older A10 Fusion processor. This new chipset will be quite the major upgrade for users.

As far as the Pricing Goes…

DigiTimes reveals that the vendors are expected to release the product during the third quarter, and the price for the new iPad Air 4 is expected to go somewhere around $499 which is very reasonable.

When is the New iPad Air 2020 Coming to the Market?

As the analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo confirms the new iPad Air is going to appear in the market during the second half of 2020. It’s a fairly large window because there are six months in total so we can expect the iPad Air 4 to appear either during the next couple of months or we can wait for its reveal until the Holiday season. Because of the growing Coronavirus pandemic concerns, a slight delay in the release of the new iPad Air was expected. The good part is, we don’t have to wait for the next WWDC 2020 event for the major reveal because the Apple iPad Pro, for instance, was released through a press release.

On 29th June, Kuo revealed that a new 10.8 inch iPad is about to hit the market, and there’s a fair chance that this will be the new iPad Air 2020. As far as the current iPad Air is concerned, it features a 10.5-inch screen. For now, Apple fans out there can keep their fingers crossed for the big release.
