How to Claim Your Business Listings on Apple Maps?
For those of you who aren’t quite aware of what Apple Map is, it is the default maps option on iPhones. It operates and functions quite similarly to Google’s Map. Getting your business listed on Apple Maps is just as much importance to you as it is to get listed on Google’s Map because there are plenty of users on the Internet who are using Safari and most probably searching up the same service that you’re offering on an Apple powered smartphone. These gadgets can include iPhones, iPads, Mac products, and many other Apple powered gadgets which enables the user to utilize the map’s functionality. Getting listed on Apple Maps will also ensure that when a user will conduct a query on Siri, then it is highly likely that the agent will identify your business (if properly optimized) and indicate your customers to locate you. When it comes to business listing information, Apple uses plenty of sources including Factual and Foursquare to list down all the necessary business information. And if you are not available on Apple’s radar, there’s highly likely your business services aren’t picked up. Hence, it is very important that you ensure you’ve claimed your business listing on Apple’s product.
If you want to make sure your business appears when people search it by name or category, here’s a step by step process explaining how you can list your business down on Apple Maps once & for all.
Step # 1: Visit Apple’s Map Connect
Access the Apple Maps Connect and sign in with your Apple ID. Now update your business information. If you are not an Apple user or do not have an Apple ID, now might just be the time to get one. The process is pretty similar to that of Google My Business, where you claim businesses on the GMB. Similarly, when you’re using an Apple product, the Apple Maps Connect is your go-to place which serves as the portal to claim your business on Apple Maps.
Step # 2: Search & Add Listings Information
To check whether you’ve been previously listed as a business in Apple Maps, search the name of your business and its current location into the search box. Let Apple Maps Connect explore if you’re already previously listed as a business. It will help you find out if you’re already listed on Apple or not.
If there’s already a business listing created, then you click on claim the listing as your own.
If it is not present, then click on “Add new place” and enter your business information. Your business information may include the name of your business, the status, the category, and whether you accept Apple Pay or not. By listing all of this information, your business will dynamically be ready to scale up.
Step # 3: Update Correct Information
Another important factor that you need to pay attention to before claiming your business on Apple is to make sure that every bit of detail that you add to your Apple Maps Connect account is accurate. Apple Maps have a policy where it doesn’t collect reviews like Google My Business, but instead, it collects reviews about your listed business from places like Yelp, TripAdvisor, etc. When you are updating business information, make sure that you add the correct business name, the original address, the proper map location, your right contact details, the right business category, and so on. All of this information will help Apple Maps Connect to pull out your information from other listings, reviews, and social media platforms.
Step # 4: Let Apple Maps Review You
Once you’re completely satisfied with the way your business listing has been updated and your information is getting displayed on the Apple Map, confirm the ownership and voila! You’re all ready to go. Let Apple Maps take a short review of what you’ve updated. It will verify and approve the listings. Once approved, users will now be able to identify and search your business through the mobile app.
And that’s just about all you need to do to get listed on Apple Maps. Sounds quite easy, doesn’t it? You can do it yourself too if you have access to an Apple smartphone right now. The only downside is that if you’re a multi-location brand, then the Apple Maps Connect method might not work out for you. This method is specifically designed for people running a single physical presence of a business location in a particular market. For adding a business with multiple locations in Apple Map, you will have to work it out with a local marketing company such as Branex who can help you create powerful listings.
