Facebook Cut Its Ties With Huawei

SAN FRANCISCO: Facebook announced Friday that it will separate Huawei from popular social networking apps to further comply with US sanctions and further isolate China’s leading technology companies that are considered a national security threat by Washington.

A social media giant has announced that President Donald Trump has taken a step further in order to ban Huawei from US technology exports, concerned about working with China’s intelligence services. “We are reviewing the Commerce Department’s final rules and the recently issued temporary temporary license, and are taking steps to ensure compliance,” a spokeswoman for Facebook told AFP.

The California-based company said that people with existing Huawei smartphones with Facebook applications will continue to be able to use and download application updates provided by Facebook.

Huawei has become the world’s second largest smartphone vendor due to security concerns from Washington, the move by Facebook is the latest. Last month, Google cut off the deal with Huawei and said it would be difficult to get major apps from major US companies.

YouTube Moving Kids Content Out Of Its Main Site

The Kids Video and Family Video Blog channel on YouTube is one of the most popular channels on video streaming sites. However, in the past, YouTube had problems managing video for children. There are at least 6 channels for children, with 1.6 billion views per week.

Since 2015, when a series of disturbing videos and allegations of unsafe behavior have appeared on the YouTube Kids app, this issue has not been resolved.

Since February, YouTube and Google CEOs Susan Wojcicki and Sundar Pichai have decided to close comments on most children’s videos. This is the way to stop the spread of predatory comments. They also prohibit minors from going to work without an adult in the room.

Users will be Able to Recover their Instagram Hacked Accounts

Instagram is testing a new in-app account recovery process. This process will help restore Instagram hacked accounts.

As part of the new testing process, in order to recover, users are asked to fill in their personal information, such as their original email address or phone number, and then send their six-digit code to their chosen contact information.

This new method helps ensure account recovery even if the hacker changes the username and contact information associated with the account.

According to reports, through this new process, Instagram also intends to prevent hackers from using email or phone numbers to take over accounts from different devices.

Currently, users have to wait for a recovery email or fill out a support form to recover a hacked account, which is actually a long and time-consuming process.
