I was having a discussion with a friend of mine Klaus and he loves to play computer games. I never ever give it a proper thought as per why he’s so deeply obsessed with gaming until I learned about the Twitch. And boy oh boy, I must say if you have a knack for gaming, you can make some serious bucks using Twitch.
It is a streaming platform for hardcore computer gamers. On Twitch, gamers from around the world stream their online gaming videos on their channels and individuals like you and I, we watch them play and learn a whole lot of things from them. Is there a game where you struggle to cross a stage or complete a boss fight, Twitch can help you learn how to conquer it.
Anyways, Klaus came to me with a query. He talked about this mischevious friend who just doesn’t know where to draw the line. This friend of his is not only stalking him day in and day out but he also somehow started following his Twitch stream. In fact, he even asked me on my stream chat that why has he blocked him.
Poor guy! Something had to be done. And I suggested him to permanently block him across all social channels. I also realized that you can even block a person on Twitch and that compelled me to cover this article. How many of you don’t want negative back talkers or politicking individuals poking their snub noses in your Twitch streaming? Here’s how you can block them for good.
How to Block Someone on Twitch?
Step # 1: Open Up Twitch on Your Web Browser
To block a person on the Twitch channel, you will have to visit the official Twitch website.
Open your web browser and enter www.twitch.tv into your browser’s address bar. Now, hit Enter.
You can even use a mobile device such as an iPhone or Android to log into your Twitch channel.
Step # 2: Now Open the Channel You Want to Watch
Now simply navigate to the right channel and find the channel which you want to watch.
For example, right now I wanted to watch Zombie LTM so I will access his channel from my list.
Channels usually appear on your home screen or you can search them up in the Browse option.
Step # 3: Find the Chat Panel on the Right Side of the Screen
Once, you visit the stream channel, you wil find the chat panel located on the right side of the screen. It is usually running on the right-hand side of the Twitch channel of the page.
Now click a username in the Live Chat section that you wish to block, and click their username in the stream chat. It will open up their profile cards in a small pop-up. Select the three dots located on the bottom right and it will open up two options; one for blocking the user while the other for reporting him/her. Simply, choose block [Name] and the user will get blocked from your channel.
If you are using a mobile app, then you just have to tap on the username which will bring all the user options in the mobile app. Find the Block option from there and tap on it to block the user.
You will be shown a screen saying,
Hit the RED BLOCK button.
And there you go, you have permanently blocked this person from viewing any of your activity.
